Have you heard of rainbow produce? It is an easy way to try and fill your body with a wide range of nutrients out of the foods you eat. Typically this is done by eating a rainbow of produce each day. You want to eat a serving (or two) out of each color group: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue/purple.

This helps you reach the recommended produce quantities per day, plus it gives your entire body a great range of nutrients to use to help you feel great and function optimally.

Which Foods Should You Be Eating?

Reds include foods like red peppers, apples, and watermelon. You can also add in red onions, strawberries, and rhubarb if you want a greater variety of foods.

Oranges include the obvious orange, plus orange peppers, and carrots. There are also foods like apricots, mangoes, and squash that can be a part of your diet.

Yellows include corn, bananas, and lemons. If you want a little more flavor, try starfruit, yellow peppers, and even yellow squash.
Greens are easy to find. You can eat green apples, lettuce of all varieties, and grapes.

If you want more options, think spinach, kiwi, and celery. The blue/purple group is a bit more difficult. This one includes a lot of berries (blue, black, raspberries, etc.), eggplant, and currants. You can also eat dark kelp, prunes, and grapes.

When you consume a wide variety of colors each day, your mouth gets inundated with nutrients, which can help improve your overall oral health. It also allows your mouth to stay hydrated and your teeth to remain cleaner, as your teeth get cleaned as you chew up these foods.
Don't be afraid to color up your diet. The more you do, the healthier your entire body becomes.
