Warning Signs that You Need to Improve Your Oral Health

Posted on 10/19/2020 by Moyer Office
Warning Signs that You Need to Improve Your Oral HealthYou need to brush and floss daily to safeguard your gums or teeth. Otherwise, you will not like the alternative. Brushing and flossing your teeth makes it possible for you to enjoy your foods more, protect your gums against infection, and avoid major dental expenses. If you have any of the symptoms below, you need to practice a more conscientious dental routine.

Do You Have Bleeding Gums?

One of the big warnings that your oral health routine needs to be improved are bleeding gums. This is the first sign that your teeth and gums are not as healthy as they could be. When you don't brush and floss daily, plaque accumulates on the gum and teeth. When plaque is not removed, it turns into tartar – a build-up that can only be professionally removed. Moreover, as the disease progresses, the gums start to recede, and the teeth can loosen. Therefore, you need to make some serious changes if you are experiencing these kinds of problems.

Do You Have Bad Breath?

Another dental warning sign involves halitosis. If you don't brush or scrape your tongue each day, it can lead to bad breath. This can happen, whether you have natural teeth or wear dentures. If denture halitosis becomes a problem, it can lead to a gum infection, just as can happen with natural teeth. To ensure against inflammation and infections, you need to remove the bacteria that settles on the mucus that covers the tongue.

If you have lapsed somewhat in your dental care routine at home, now is the time to make changes. If you have not received a professional cleaning and exam within the last 6 months, contact us by email or by phone immediately. Making this kind of change can make a big difference in how your smile looks and how you feel overall.
